After numerous illnesses and canceled race starts, Tracy Robertson-Frack finally competed in her first triathlon as an elite at the Oliver Half-Ironman in Oliver, BC on Sunday. She placed 2nd to Olympic silver medalist and Ironman World Champion Michellie Jones. The pro field was small, so she found herself alone for the most of the swim. Once on the bike, Tracer the Racer moved into 3rd just a few minutes behind 2nd and about 14mins behind Michellie. With her running shoes on, Tracy set out after the top two. She would catch 2nd place about half-way into the run and would outrun Michellie by four minutes. Her 1:25:41 run split was a new run course record. Needless to say, she is extremely happy to get a good result from her first race of the year (thanks Shawn Frack for the awesome report).
Ashley Whitney kicked butt in the 10k swim in Ft. Myers, FL this weekend. Her time of 2:16.35 was more than a minute and a half ahead of the second place finisher.
Rachel Ross had a great swim and run at Hawaii Ironman 70.3 (and behaved herself by not running with an injured IT band).
Up Next: Keri Hehn and Annamay Pierse compete at the Janet Evans Invitational in Los Angeles, and Jen Garrison races the Tri-Shark Classic in IL.
